In a meeting attended by senior officials and department heads, Dr. Mohammad Reza Shanehsaz expressed his deep appreciation for the outstanding contributions of Dr. Shafiqeh Rahideh in the establishment and development of the Medical Procurement Organization and its affiliated companies.
On May
20, 2025, Dr. Mohammad Reza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical
Procurement Organization of the Red Crescent Society, met with Dr. Shafiqeh
Rahideh, a distinguished and influential figure in the organization’s growth. This
meeting, held in the presence of several senior executives, provided a valuable
opportunity to reflect on Dr. Rahideh’s pivotal role in advancing the
organization’s mission.
During
the session, Dr. Rahideh revisited the organization's efforts during the
Iran-Iraq War, highlighting the crucial role played by Red Crescent pharmacies
in supplying essential medicines to the public amid crisis conditions. She
recalled the challenges of severe resource shortages and immense wartime
pressures, emphasizing the organization's extraordinary efforts to procure
vital medications—an achievement now recognized as a testament to the
organization’s dedication.
Dr.
Rahideh also elaborated on the establishment of the organization’s production
units, including pharmaceutical complexes and medical equipment manufacturing
facilities. She stressed that these initiatives significantly contributed to
the country’s pharmaceutical independence and self-sufficiency in the
healthcare sector.
Expressing
his admiration for Dr. Rahideh’s experience, expertise, and unwavering
commitment, Dr. Shanehsaz acknowledged her as one of the most influential
figures in shaping the Medical Procurement Organization and its subsidiaries.
He further emphasized that her legacy serves as a guiding model for future
generations in the organization’s continued development.
It is
noteworthy that Dr. Rahideh served as CEO of the Medical Procurement
Organization of the Red Crescent Society from 1979 to 2006. Through her vision
and leadership, she played an instrumental role in the establishment and
expansion of the organization’s production and service infrastructure, leaving
an enduring mark on its growth.
