On Tuesday, June 30, 2025, a specialized civil defense delegation from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, led by Dr. Moradipour, visited the headquarters, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical warehouses of the Medical Procurement Organization. In a joint session with Dr. Shanehsaz, Managing Director, and other senior managers of the organization, both parties emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in securing critical health facilities.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Medical Procurement Organization, the visiting delegation included Dr. Moradipour, Director General of the Civil Defense Headquarters; Mr. Jahangiri, Deputy Director for Physical Security Affairs, Security Office; and Engineer Mirjani, Deputy for Technology at the Central Protection Office. The purpose of the visit was to assess and enhance the safety of vital pharmaceutical and medical infrastructures under the organization’s supervision.

The inspection focused on identifying strengths and weaknesses in infrastructure safety and included an evaluation of shelter standards, fire suppression systems, crisis management readiness, and cybersecurity protocols.

During the expert-level session, the importance of inter-agency collaboration in advancing civil defense capabilities within the health sector was reaffirmed. It was agreed that:

“As a key pillar in the provision of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment nationwide, the Medical Procurement Organization will prioritize collaboration with the Iranian Red Crescent Society on securing critical facilities, personnel training, and the joint implementation of civil defense initiatives. Given that safeguarding pharmaceutical infrastructure during times of crisis is a national priority, comprehensive cooperation among all relevant agencies is essential.”

This visit marked a significant step toward bolstering preparedness and safety measures at critical health facilities and further reinforced the spirit of strategic collaboration between the two organizations.
