On 7 July 2025, a joint session was held between the Medical Procurement Organization and the Momtaz Pharmaceutical Distribution Company, attended by Dr. Mohammad Reza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement Organization, along with senior executives from the organization, and Dr. Foruhari, CEO of Momtaz Distribution Company, accompanied by his delegation. The meeting centered on advancing strategies to strengthen the pharmaceutical supply chain.
According
to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of the Medical
Procurement Organization, the session brought together senior leadership from
both entities to deliberate on key issues such as improving procurement and
distribution processes for patients in need, expanding the pharmaceutical portfolio,
and enhancing collaboration with affiliated companies.
Dr.
Shanehsaz, highlighted the critical challenges stemming from rising costs and
liquidity constraints within pharmaceutical enterprises. He emphasized the
urgency of addressing these issues to prevent disruptions across the medicine
supply and distribution network. “Swift resolution of financial constraints due
to delayed payments, coupled with the adoption of new approaches to ensure
adequate working capital for these entities, will play a decisive role in
stabilizing the supply chain and improving healthcare delivery to patients,” he
noted.
Senior
managers from the organization and representatives from Momtaz Distribution
Company further examined approaches to increase mutual engagement, broaden the
pharmaceutical range, and enhance coordination with the organization’s
subsidiaries. These discussions aimed to secure equitable access to essential
medications and elevate the quality of pharmaceutical services.
