On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, a meeting was held between the Managing Director of the Medical Procurement Organization and senior managers of the organization with representatives of an African delegation. During the session, the pharmaceutical and medical equipment market capacities in African countries were reviewed, and both sides emphasized the expansion of joint cooperation.
According
to the Public Relations and International Affairs Unit of the Medical
Procurement Organization, the African representatives presented a report on the
state of the market and the pharmaceutical and medical equipment needs in their
countries. Expressing satisfaction with the quality of medicines and medical
equipment produced in Iran, they considered the competitive pricing of these
products a major strength in developing cooperation. They also declared their
willingness to engage in broad collaboration with the Medical Procurement
Organization and its subsidiaries in the fields of pharmaceuticals and medical
equipment.
Dr.
Mohammadreza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement
Organization, welcomed the African delegation and stated:
“In
addition to its humanitarian missions, the Medical Procurement Organization is
keen to provide effective pharmaceutical and medical equipment services to the
people of African countries.”
Announcing
readiness to expand cooperation, he added:
“There
are significant capacities for technology transfer to these countries, and we
can establish extensive collaboration in the field of dialysis, where the
organization offers a complete portfolio of products.”
Dr.
Shanehsaz further noted that the Red Crescent Society has previously
established hemodialysis centers in some African countries, and this experience
could be replicated elsewhere. He emphasized that the Medical Procurement
Organization is prepared to utilize domestic capabilities to contribute to the
development of healthcare infrastructure and to improve the health standards of
people across Africa.
