The Central 24-Hour Red Crescent Pharmacy, affiliated with the Medical Procurement Organization, has leveraged an online electronic prescription registration system to enable patients to receive their medications without the need to spend time on in-person procedures or wait in queues.
According to the Public Relations
and International Affairs Unit of the Medical Procurement Organization, this
system has been launched with the aim of enhancing the quality of
pharmaceutical services, optimizing time management, and reducing crowd
congestion at the central pharmacy. Patients can, without the need for physical
presence at the pharmacy, register their electronic prescriptions via the link
https://daru.mpo-helal.org and track the status of their request in real time
and online.
The request registration process
is as follows:
- Access the system and select the
"Register Electronic Prescription Order" option
- Complete the patient information
and prescription details, including a valid contact number
- Receive an automatic electronic
queue number upon form submission
- Immediate review of the
prescription by pharmacy experts
- Notification of the review
result (approval or need for revision) within a maximum of one hour
- Issuance of a preliminary
invoice including pharmaceutical items and the payable amount
- Patient confirmation of the
invoice and completion of online payment
- Initiation of the medication
preparation process immediately upon payment confirmation
- Collection of medication from
the counter at the designated time, with no waiting required
- Possibility of online tracking
of the request from the moment of registration to medication delivery
Among the advantages of this
system is patient awareness during the registration process; accordingly, if
the patient's file is inactive, the request is submitted prematurely, the
medication is special-order (requiring referral to the Food and Drug Administration
service desk), or the basic insurance systems are disrupted, the registration
process is halted with a guidance message, and the patient, while being
informed of the potential issue, receives the necessary instructions.
This smart initiative plays a key
role in time management, reducing the stress associated with waiting, and
eliminating unnecessary travel, particularly for patients with an ongoing need
for rare and specialized medications. Furthermore, to facilitate rapid
familiarization with the system environment, a visual guide and instructional
video have been made available on the website. Applicants can scan the QR code
to directly access the order registration page and the instructional video,
thereby eliminating the need to waste time on traditional processes.
